PRACTICE AREAS

Statistics/Large Data Management

Welch Consulting economists have extensive expertise in a broad range of statistical methods that can be utilized to answer questions in a number of areas, including fields unrelated to analyses of employment issues. Welch economists are retained to calculate and testify about statistical sampling issues in a variety of contexts, allegations of racial profiling in traffic stops, redlining claims in municipal decision-making concerning public transportation and automobile doorlatch failure rates. Our economists have the breadth of experience to analyze nearly any statistical question if suitable data is obtainable.

Welch consultants are extremely adept in working with large, complicated data bases. All data intensive matters have some degree of difficulty associated with the organization and analysis of assorted sources of information. Our economists work to minimize this complexity to ensure that the data collected can be effectively analyzed. Whether the raw information requiring analysis is electronic, in hard copy, or not quantified (e.g. streaming video) our economists will distill the key pieces of information into a data base ready for analysis and suitable for production.
