Keith Schumann is a Statistician at the Bryan, TX office of Welch Consulting. Dr. Schumann has conducted statistical analyses of compensation, hiring, and terminations to assess potential disparate impacts regarding gender, race/ethnicity, or age. Dr. Schumann has also provided statistical and economic analyses in cases involving mortgage lending, in sample size elicitation for adequate population representation, and in litigation involving wage and hours claims. Dr. Schumann is the lead architect of the PayEval employment practice analysis system, which is software used to evaluate employers' decisions in compensation, pay changes, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance, disciplines, and training.
Dr. Schumann received his Ph.D. in statistics from Texas A&M University. Dr. Schumann was an associate in risk management for the Department of Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M University where he assisted in teaching courses in economic risk analysis and simulation, conducted domestic farm policy research, and developed risk management software. Dr. Schumann is the vice president of Simetar, Inc., a company that provides risk analysis and database management tools for spreadsheet applications. Dr. Schumanns published research involves developing statistical methods to evaluate decision mechanisms in risk analysis and quantifying risk as well as evaluating economic decisions using statistical simulation. His research has been published in the Journal of Agricultural and Applied Economics, the Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, and the Journal of Farm Management.
