Brianna Marissa Briggs is an Economist at the Los Angeles office of Welch Consulting. Using statistical and economic tools, Dr. Briggs provides insight into wage and hour disputes as well as employment discrimination cases. She also conducts compensation audits to assess compliance with OFCCP standards.
Dr. Briggs received her Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she specialized in labor economics and applied econometrics. Her dissertation, entitled “Three Essays on Policy Evaluation”, tackled a variety of research questions, ranging from the effectiveness of faith-based organizations in job training programs to assessing the payoff of offering welfare recipients lumpsum payments to relocate to pinning down the overall impact on usage of legislation restricting availability and access to precursor chemicals used in methamphetamine production. Dr. Briggs has served as a teaching assistant in macro and microeconomics, international economics, labor economics, finance, personnel economics and statistics.
